The rental vacancy rate in Calgary is dropping, fast. Our goal with Rent Spot is to help connect renters with property managers. Last year the rental vacany rate was 4%, this year the city wide vacancy rate is 1.6%, according to the Calgary Apartment Association. This is compared to 5% to 6% for the past three years. Contributing factors to the decline in vacancy rates are the influx of people to Calgary and the higher home prices and interest rates, taking a lot of first time home buyers out of the home buying mode.
